Tragic Whittier Car Accident Claims the Life of a 12-Year-Old Girl
According to police reports, a 12-year-old girl was killed during a tragic car accident that took place on the evening of May 3rd, 2013 in Los Angeles, CA. The accident apparently happened when a driver of a BMW, that had been heading south on 1st Avenue, attempted to make a left turn onto Leffingwell Road, at the same time as a northbound Nissan Xterra was approaching the intersection.
In an effort to avoid a collision, the driver of the Xterra swerved out of the way and ended up running directly into a light post at the corner of 1st Avenue and Leffingwell Road. His female passenger, the 12-year-old girl, sustained substantial injuries and, although she was rushed to a local hospital, she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver of the Xterra, who was complaining of pain in his side, was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center, whereas the driver of the BMW was treated at the scene and released. No arrests were made.
